Here&#8217;s a list of some of the most notable parts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hull: The main structure of the boat that floats on the water. There can be different types of hulls: a single hull, two hulls in catamarans or even three hulls in trimarans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deck: This is the upper surface of the boat, where people can walk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bow: This is the front part of the boat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stern: This is the rear of the boat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Port: From the stern to the bow, it is the left side of the boat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starboard: From the stern, it is the right side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Crossing line: An imaginary line that divides the boat in two lengthwise, leaving port on one side and starboard on the other.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Side: Each of the two sides resulting from dividing the ship by the centerline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keel: A long, thin beam that extends along the bottom of the hull. It provides stability to the ship and helps maintain its course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hull: Refers to the submerged part of the hull, i.e., from the waterline down. It is usually painted with non-stick paint to prevent algae or mollusks from becoming encrusted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deadrise: It is the emerging part of the hull above the waterline up to the ship&#8217;s gunwale.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rudder: Located at the stern and used to control the direction of the ship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bridge: Enclosed area on deck that houses the rudder and other controls of the boat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engine: In powerboats, the engine is the main source of power for propulsion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bilge: Located in the lowest area of the bilge, just above the hull. It is responsible for collecting water and oil spilled in any part of the boat and evacuating them to the outside by means of bilge pumps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are just some of the parts of a motor boat. The main sheet controls the lateral position of the main sail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Headsail:<\/strong> Set of ropes and cables used to control the sails and other moving parts of the boat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Halyards:<\/strong> The name given to the ropes used to drop or gather the sails.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are just some of the essential parts of a sailboat.
